The pub serves real ale and other good beers straight out of the barrel without pumps. Excellent food is offered at fair prices, the log fire is stoked in winter and BBQ's are offered outside in the summer.

Situated at the top end of the village in the hamlet of Hailey, The King offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

The Oxford Restaurant Guide says of The King William:- "A charming country pub in an area of outstanding natural beauty with spectacular views across the Chilterns. An ideal venue to escape the bustle of city life and relax and unwind. There are five Brakspear ales direct from the barrel and the freshly prepared food is delicious and reasonably priced".

You will find many other reviews of this pleasant pub in various local web sites. But more importantly, just visit.

She stocks most daily needs (even including Calor Gas) and will handle orders for newspapers, milk, bread and other essentials for her regulars. Her Post Office Counter is invaluable.

Shirley also keeps Fresh Farm Apple Juice, Local Beers, a small Off Licence, and takes many special orders for butchery, cheeses, farm vegetables etc., as well as party and BBQ orders.
